Today was very boring !When we did our Chem practical it was pretty fun
First we had to test for carbon dioxide by using limewater
The experiment was carried out as follows
- Fill test tube with lime water up to about 2cm
- Add the salt to another test tube (eg. Calcium carbonate,Potassium carbonate)
- Fill the test tube with acid (Hydrochloric acid/sulfuric Acid)
- Quickly cover it with your thumb as Carbon Dioxide gas might escape
- Then quickly connect the lime water test tube to the other test tube
- If u see the lime water turn chalky then u r SUCESSFUL!!!!!If not then too bad
And I added too much acid so one of the times it actually popped out of the test tube and it was so scary
In the next experiment we had to see if hydrogen was present and it was soooo COOL!
All my lighted splints extinguished with a very loud pop
Then for IT we went to the Mac lab!!!!!!!!!!!
And the apple software is so COOL!
Its better than Microsoft in someone's opinion
